St. Patricks Day 2013 event a great success

What a great turnout for our St. Patrick’s Day events. We had over 100 people, walk the 1.5 KM into the park to partake of our St. Patrick’s Day themed lunch and the “Hunt for the Gold Coins” that┬áthe Leprechuan hid.

The Leprechaun apologizes to the “Little Folk” and the “Big Folk” that came with them, for running out “Gold Coins”. He and his helpers did not anticipate the┬ápositive response of this event. There was plenty of cookies, cake and hot chocolate for everyone, along with some Shamrock stickers and St. Patrick’s themed pencils.

A big thank you to Sharon, Stephen, Janice, Sundae, Margrit, Steen and Wendy for helping out with this event. Thank you also to the Recreation Department and Department of Natural Resources for their ongoing support of the Friends of Ellenwood Park.

We will be having several events in April, which will be posted later this week.
