Friends of Ellenwood are eagerly awaiting more snowfall so that we can cross-country ski and snowshoe at the park again this winter. Visit this page to see what may be happening during the winter season. If the ski hut is open, there will be gear to borrow (free) and hot chocolate, instant coffee and tea.
This is a perfect time of year for hiking at the park, taking in the cool crisp air and observing the changes of the seasons.
Update: The ski hut is closed this weekend, Jan. 17 and 18, 2026 due to lack of snow.
